This island of 103,000 km2 and 388,000 inhabitants, located in the North Atlantic Ocean, is a land of breathtaking contrasts.

Its wild landscapes include active volcanoes, glaciers, fjords and black lava deserts that you don't see anywhere else.

Known for its northern lights and its natural hot springs, Iceland is a dream destination for everyone but visited by few. It's far, it's expensive and it's wild. But the game is well worth the effort, because we see landscapes from another planet.

The trip to Iceland is very different if you go around the island through the outer ring than if you go through the most distant lands in the heart of the country. We did both!<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

It's hard to choose between glaciers, icebergs, geysers, waterfalls, fjords, lava deserts and volcanic ash beaches.

But the most impressive thing we experienced was undoubtedly the Fagradalsfjal volcano in full eruption, which we had the chance to see (perhaps) too close.

It was free to access and we were able to walk on still warm lava, but we were so close to the volcano that the toxic fumes and the heat hurt our eyes, and the next day we were hypersensitive to light.

It was magical and more breathtaking than anything we had ever seen before.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Mosquitoes! We love picnicking and camping in the great outdoors, but in the summer, in the afternoon, the most rural regions of northern countries like Iceland, Scotland or Norway are unfortunately infested with midgees. Tiny mosquitoes that stick to the skin and are so numerous that it is impossible to escape.

We must wear fine mesh hoods to be safe in areas where there are mosquitoes. mosquitoes, they do not bite but their contact with the skin generates itching that is difficult to bear.

This was certainly the only annoying aspect of this country, but with the good mosquito repellent sold on site, and the mesh hoods, we got by pretty well.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\tWe visited Iceland twice, the first time we drove around the island from the outside, which is the route most people know.
The second time we drove around the island go inside and it was much more and interesting.

But we had difficulty finding gasoline because the interior is wild and uninhabited, and unfortunately the bike only had 300Km of autonomy even with an additional 5L tank.\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
